Jerusalem

Today, we visited Bet She'an, an ancient decapolis, which is a group of 10 cities close to each other, used as centers for population and commerce. The ruins, I must admit, are all starting to look alike, though they are cool. We also went to Jericho. The road was under construction and was really rough, but Jericho was beautiful. Here, I rode a camel... his name was Sammy, and words cannot describe Sammy's smell.

This evening, we came to the Lutheran Guesthouse (house of the Propsts... in German, my family's last name refers to something having to do with church, but I think I'll need to learn German to figure it out). It is amazing here. We are a stone's throw away from the Dome of the Rock and Western Wall. I think today it finally became real to me that I am in the Holy Land. While I'm a bit overstimulated with how much we have seen and how much more we will see, it is very cool to be here.

Hey Mandy. If you look up our heritage, the Brobst side originated in Switzerland as Probst. Here is the website if you want to check it out.
